Various opinions by scholars and critics as to author and content beg the question, “Why study Mark’s gospel?” He does not record Jesus’ nativity (nor does John) or His post-resurrection appearances. These and other omissions also posed problems for the early Fathers. But Mark’s focus is on the “good news of Jesus Christ.”
