Adult Bible Fellowships - Class Descriptions
The Visions for Adult Bible Fellowships (ABFs)
To be effective for Christ, the church must be based on the unchanging truths in the Bible, yet be able to relate and apply those truths to today. While the church matures through the word of God, the world knows of our relationship to Christ through our care for one another. Christ Community Church (CCC) must be noted both for our maturing faith in God and our love for one another. “...We have heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and of the love you have for all the saints.” (Colossians 1:4).

At Christ Community, our foundation is the Bible and our purpose is to honor Christ, reach the community, and equip the church. One of our great needs in meeting that purpose is to bring all people to maturity through personal interaction and caring relationships.

As a vision CCC seeks to emphasize building “community” within the church. It is our belief that one of the best ways to do this is through a Sunday morning Adult Bible Fellowship. ABFs provide opportunities for building intentional and vibrant relationships that a worship service cannot. Such relationships become the foundation for the “community” that helps people serve Christ and grow in Him. If you are not currently participating in an ABF, consider joining one today! There are several to choose from.

Caring...
Caring for the people who make up each ABF. Each group is involved in:
  • Prayer for one another
  • Social activities
  • Encouragement toward godliness
  • Meeting spiritual and physical needs
Jesus said, “By this all men will know  that you are My disciples, if you love one another.”

Teaching...
Helping people understand and live out the truth of the Bible is done through:
  • A conversational, interactive teaching style
  • Relevant and practical instruction
  • Complementing the church’s preaching ministry

Inviting...
A group characterized by caring relationships and relevant teaching is a desirable place to be. But welcoming new members is not enough. Each ABF invites people in by:
  • Informing the church community of the activities and goals of ABFs
  • Inviting new members from within the church family, and
  • Seeking guests outside of the church family
